Three-digit codes in System Shock Remake will help you open locked passages or activate some devices. Using them will help you explore the Citadels decks 100. Our guide tells you where the next codes are and what uses they have. You will bow before me, and I will show you what true power looks like. In System Shock Remake can find codes for doors or devices with combinations of digits. You may have weapons, but they are nothing compared to my intelligence and my vast network of resources. And all the while, you will be under my watchful eye, as I delight in your suffering. You will face new challenges, new enemies, and new horrors that will test your limits. Overall I'm really rather enjoying my time with it so far.But this time, things will be different. The cyberspace elements are definitely an improvement, definitely harder to get lost this go around. I was worried I'd miss the music, but I've found I appreciate the new vibe, since most of the tunes come in as combat music the moments in between are more atmospheric and lend it more of a survival horror vibe, especially when you turn around just as a mutant ambushes you! That said sometimes the old ost slips into my head as I'm playing! The system of recycling junk for credits that can then be used at vending machines just further drives and rewards exploration, especially when you discover the new weapon upgrades purchaseable through this system. The moment to moment gameplay seems on par with the Enhanced Edition and it's mouselook, but with a little less needless fiddling around with things in the inventory, and a lot more scavenging junk.

The artstyle is this wonderful balance of advanced and retro that I find stunningly appropriate. It seems almost entirely faithful to the original, down to layout. This is basically the Enhanced Enhanced Edition, and I still love it. I never played the original in the 90's, I was more of a Doom/Duke Nukem child, but I did play through the Enhanced Edition in half a decade ago and loved it. I cleared out the starting Medical Level and have made good headway on Research Level.
